Lolita Blog Carnival - Underrated colours

Hello mammoths!

Recently, I joined this group called "Lolita Blog Carnival". It's a circle of lolita bloggers and every week we vote for a topic to write about. Then we make a post about it on our blogs and promote each other. I think it's a great opportunity to find other awesome lolita bloggers and for me also a motivation to blog about lolita more often. If you're a loliblogger, write your blog in English and would like to join, you will find the group HERE~

The topic for this week was underrated colours aka colours that aren't used often and we would like to see them more on lolita clothing. Well, if you know me /or if you read this blog properly/, you probably already know where this is going.

seriously, what did you expect?

There aren't many colours that would be more elegant and beautiful than dark green. Yet there are only few brands that actually dare to release a dress in this colour and even less of then would release a print in green colorway. I honestly don't know why. Maybe because not everyone looks good in it? I wish brands like Innocent World or Victorian Maiden made awesome classic lolita dresses in this colour.

But green is not only for classic lolita. I love it in sweet, too! Hence my actual dream dress...

...and its older brother

I don't like redXgreen outside of loltia, but this dress is just way too cute. I could imagine it in some country loli coordinate as well as in just sweet coord. But there are other colourss that go well with green. GreenXpink and greenXmint looks also very nice and sweet.

And what about me and this colour? Unfortunately, I don't own any green lolita item yet. But I'm soon about to own an awesome green bolero and a green bonnet, which is my favorite thing ever. And if there is a chance for me to buy the Strawberry Crown JSK, I will do it!

and here, have one (in)famous fictional green lover lady :)
So, in my opinion, green and especially its darker shades, is a neglected colour with lots of potential and I, as well as lots of people i know, would love to see it more in lolita.

  1. So true! There need to be more dark green dresses, it's such an elegant color. My post was also about green only it was about the color green in general.
I hope more people will realize that (dark) green is perfect for lolita. ^^

    1. I chose dark green because well we already have mint and there are many shades of green i don't really like, but there is a lack of color green in general, too, indeed.
Haha yes, let's make a green revolution! :D

  2. So many cute things in green! And I think if you can't own a green dress, a green bolero and bonnet is just perfect! You can coordinate them with so many other cute colors!

Bleh.

  4. Haha, back when I made lolita stuff for sale, the dress that sold first was actually dark green. XD I really like the JSK with strawberries, but when I was scrolling down, I noticed the bustier first and it looked kinda Christmas-y (until I saw the skirt too), maybe that's why brands are afraid to make a green dress?

    1. Oh it does look Christmasy, but I don't think that would be the reason. There are so many colours that go with green well and don't look Christmasy a all! :(

  5. I actually own Meta's Strawberries and Cream (the second-to-last photo you posted) and I honestly don't get a Christmas-y feel from it just because of the strawberries. Berries tend to be a summer fruit, so I don't think too much about it, hehe~ It'd be another thing entirely if it had some kind of wintery motifs on it.

    1. haha lucky you :)
I think she meant the redXgreen colour combination reminds her of Christmas... otherwise it's a nice sweet/country summer lolita print indeed :))
